Kerrie James: some of her thoughts
|
| Back |
Its amazing looking through Kerrie's art notebooks how much thought
she put into her art. I guess I should have known this - her whole
life was one that was considered and intelligent, of course, her
passion; painting, would be the same.
The scope of these thoughts was far wider than just painting.
Below are just a small sample of them, many from when she was 18
- 19, and some when she was 21 (1991). I hope, like me, you can hear Kerrie's voice come through
in her writing.

NEW, June 2009: Quoting a Sylvia Plath poem, Daddy (poem, 1962) (Kerrie's notebook, 1991). Quote. Plath was someone Kerrie responded to as a young woman, and indeed would mention as an adult.

Many thanks to Kirsten MacGregor for pointing out the Indigo
Girls source for this quote, from the song, "Closer to Fine".
Here's a short clip as a quicktime
(.mov) file, or an mpeg
file. Artist
direct also has the video clip. You can find the song and
many more Indigo Girls tracks on iTunes and elsewhere.
